Once you click Submit it will ask if you want to add an additional registrant. Before you pay you will have a chance to review your order and the registrant it is assigned to.

GENERAL LEVEL DESCRIPTION: This is a BRIEF overview of what could be learned during lessons

These are “general guidelines” to help assist you in evaluating your child’s swim level. You know your child

and their abilities the best please use your best judgement when selecting a level for your child we will have a small amount of flexibility to make sure that students are in the correct class, but sometimes that is not always possible. Learn-To-Swim Aquatics: Gives young children a positive, developmentally appropriate aquatic learning experience that emphasizes water safety and survival concepts. This is a child centered approach to swimming with the main goal being water safety. Skills are age-appropriate, helping participants achieve success on a regular basis while in a class environment with their peers of similar age. Skills will be taught through play type activities. 

In all levels children participate independently with in a small group setting with their instructor. Instructor : student ratio 1:4

Sample of skills to be taught are listed below:
Preschool Level 1 (approximately ages 2-4) generally 30-40 minutes in length - children should be able to attend this class independently.
Enter and exit water using ladder, steps or side
Blowing bubbles through mouth and nose
Submerging mouth, nose and eyes
Open eyes under water and retrieve submerged objects
Back float and recover to a vertical position
Roll from front to back and back to front
Staying safe around aquatic environments 


Preschool Level 2 (approximately ages 4-5) generally will be 30-40 minutes in length. Builds on the skills learned in Preschool level 1 - children
participating in this level should have successfully completes Preschool Level 1 or have the ability to successfully demonstrate the skills taught in
that level.

Level 1 (approx. ages 5 and up) INTRODUCTION TO WATER SKILLS - These classes will generally run for 40 minutes.

Level 2 FUNDAMENTAL AQUATIC SKILLS - This class is designed for children approximately ages 6 and up who have successfully completed
Level 1 or who can demonstrate knowledge of the skills taught in Level 1. These classes will generally run for 40 minutes.
Front, jellyfish and tuck floats
Front and back glides and back float
Recover from a front and back float or glide to
a vertical position
Roll from front to back and back to front
Change direction of travel while swimming on
front or back

SUMMER SWIM SESSION 1 TUESDAY - FRIDAY JULY 10 - JULY 20, 2018 

SUMMER SWIM SESSION 2 TUESDAY-FRIDAY JULY 24 - AUG 3, 2018

General Swim Lesson Information

Please read thoroughly as this information may answer many questions you may have.

Classes will meet at the same time each day indicated by the session you select.

Please bring the following items with you to your lessons:

  • Receipt of purchase - bring only to your first day of class
  • Towel
  • Goggles (only if your child requires them - however there may be times when the instructor will ask them to be removed)
  • Apply sunblock 30 minutes prior to lessons.
  • Please have your child wear a bathing suit they are comfortable moving in - this may mean that girls should consider wearing a one piece swim suit. If your child gets cold easily please have them wear a rash-guard and not a t-shirt.

Things not to bring:

  • Floats of any kind
  • Floating swim suits

As a reminder no one is allowed in the pool for recreational swim during lessons and please keep clear of the pool edge. Students may not enter the water until their Instructor as instructed them to. Please keep a close eye on all individuals that are not participating in a class. There is a playground outside of the pool that you may use during lessons.


Policies

Please Read Through These Policies And Verify That You Understand Them:

Cancellation and Refund Policy:

Full refunds will be given only when Lifeguard4HIRE cancels the entire class. Swimmers who cancel for personal reasons, and who do so at least one week (7 days) prior to the class date will receive a refund, minus a $10.00 cancellation fee. Once classes have begun refunds will not be given.

Weather Policy:

Weather changes rapidly in Texas. From time to time classes may be cancelled due to weather, but not always. If possible swimming safety will be taught undercover on rainy days. In the case of severe weather, such as lightening, thunder, high winds - Lifeguard4HIRE may cancel classes as soon as deemed appropriate and parents/guardians will be notified as soon as possible. Do not assume that classes are cancelled - we will do our best to notify you - which could be through email, phone call, text message, posted on our website, a sign posted at the pool or from your instructor that is at the pool. Every effort will be made to notify participants of the cancellation, however with the rate weather changes we may not be able to contact all participants in a timely manner - this could mean that you may not be notified until you have already arrived at the facility. Only classes that are cancelled by Lifeguard4HIRE, LLC due to bad weather will be made up - a refund will not be given if you miss a class that has not been cancelled, are unable to attend the make-up day or if you choose to not attend the safety lesson if one is taught on a bad weather day.

Make Up Classes:

Make-up classes will only be scheduled when Lifeguard4HIRE must cancel a class and will generally occur on the following Monday at the time indicated by the Instructor - you should receive either a verbal, email, phone call or text from your Instructor or our Office as to the exact date and time of the make-up. Make-ups will not be offered for classes missed for personal reasons; except in extreme cases and will be evaluated on an individual basis.

Sick Student Policy:

We understand that children get sick - even in the summer. However, if a child misses class due to sickness a make-up date will not be given, but only in the case of an extreme illness and will be evaluated on a case by case basis. Children must be clear of diarrhea and vomiting for at least 24 hours before they may return to lessons and the child’s swim suit should be properly cleaned and sanitized before their return.

We strongly encourage that swim suits be rinsed out after every lesson. Additionally if your child has swam in an lake, river, creek or pond in-between lessons please rinse their suit out before they return to their next lesson.
